Quality Assurance

The Wire to Wire installation team, supervised for quality assurance by the assigned Project Manager, will test the entire structured cabling system in one sweep, following the completion of all outlet and patch panel terminations.  The client is welcome to witness any part of the testing process.

Specifically-trained Wire to Wire technicians will field-test all installed cables using the Fluke Networks DTX-1800 Cable Analyzer, to ensure compliance with the ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Commercial Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components Standard for Category 6 with transmission parameters up to 250MHz.

Every cabling link in the installation shall be tested for:

  • Wire Map
  • Length
  • Insertion Loss
  • Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) and PowerSum NEXT Loss
  • Attenuation Crosstalk Far-end (ACR-F) and PowerSum ACR-F Loss
  • Return Loss
  • Propagation Delay
  • Delay Skew

The installed horizontal cabling links shall be tested from the patch panel rack in the first floor server room to the wall outlet in the work area for compliance with the Permanent Link performance specification as defined in the Category 6 Standard.

Any failing link will be diagnosed and corrected. The corrective action shall be followed with a new test to show that the corrected link meets the performance requirements. The final passing result for all links will be provided in the test results documentation package.
